Accessibility
Accessibility Statement
Acne Risk is working toward a service that people can use with a keyboard, touchscreen, screen magnification, reduced motion, and common screen readers.
- Keep core food and skin tracking available without gesture-only, speech-only, or camera-only interactions.
- Use semantic controls, visible focus, readable status messages, and accessible alternatives for visual data.
- Review accessibility as the service and its third-party dependencies change.
Accessibility support
The service includes skip navigation, keyboard-operable controls, labeled forms, focus-managed dialogs, reduced-motion behavior, non-drag food reordering, text alternatives for charts and calendars, contextual progress-photo descriptions, and accessible HTML export alongside PDF output.
Authentication supports password managers and pasting passwords and authenticator codes. Voice, barcode, and meal-photo tools retain typed, manual, or file-based alternatives.
Signed-in users can turn optional extra spoken action confirmations on or off in My Profile. Essential keyboard operation, labels, focus handling, readable errors, contrast, and privacy protections remain enabled for everyone.
Platforms and assistive technologies
Automated checks and keyboard review are part of development. Before an unqualified conformance claim is made, the current release still requires complete manual verification with VoiceOver on macOS Safari and iPhone Safari, NVDA on Windows Firefox or Chrome, and TalkBack on Android Chrome, plus 200% text resizing, 400% reflow, forced colors, dark mode, landscape, slow-network, and failure-state testing.
Known limitations
- The PDF report is not represented as a fully tagged accessible PDF. An accessible HTML version is available from the same export flow.
- Third-party camera, authentication, payment, browser file-picker, and embedded-provider interfaces can vary by device and may contain accessibility behavior outside Acne Risk’s direct control.
- Complex canvas charts use a text/table alternative; direct exploration of individual canvas marks may remain limited.
- Formal testing across the full assistive-technology matrix is ongoing.
Because these limitations and manual tests remain, Acne Risk does not currently claim full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance.
Report a problem or request assistance
Signed-in users can open Feedback & requests from the account menu and identify the report as an accessibility problem. Include the page, task, device, browser, and assistive technology if you are comfortable doing so. Do not include passwords, authenticator codes, or unnecessary health information.
If the interface prevents you from using that form, use the operator contact described in the Privacy Policy. You may request the same information or service in an alternative format or ask for reasonable assistance.
Target response time: acknowledgement within five business days. Resolution time depends on severity and technical complexity; urgent access blockers are prioritized.
European Accessibility Act service information
Service description
Acne Risk is a web-based personal tracking service for recording food, nutrition, skin observations, optional private progress photos, treatment context, and observational food-to-skin patterns.
How the service operates
Users create an account, enter or import foods, add morning or evening skin observations, and review timelines, estimates, and exports. Optional voice, photo, and barcode tools accelerate input but are not required. Sensitive actions require review or confirmation.
How accessibility requirements are addressed
The interface is designed around semantic HTML, keyboard access, assistive-technology names and states, perceivable status messages, alternatives to gestures and device sensors, adaptable layouts, reduced motion, and nonvisual representations of charts and private-photo metadata.
Monitoring and maintenance
Automated accessibility regression checks run with the application test suite. Releases require a documented keyboard, zoom, motion, error-state, and assistive-technology review. New components must preserve the same interaction and announcement patterns, and reported barriers are tracked through the support workflow.
Contact path
Use Feedback & requests in the signed-in account menu or the contact route in the Privacy Policy. Requests for an alternative format or assistance are handled through the same path.
